If you love food and wine this is the festival for you. Victorias March long weekend Sat 7th and Sun 8th Held in Rutherglen. We are serving up King River Cafes famous flourless chocolate cake with Meghans own Muscat, Honey & Cinnamon icecream. Chocolates from the local chocolate artist Reinassance to make our theme and Gooramadda Olives will be on site with there wide range of olive products including Frou Frou cordial. Saturday evening 7th of March will see our first harvest dinner held at Damicos of Howlong.. Well another year over for the festival and we certainly enjoyed some fine sounds from John Luke Shelley and High Speed Steel and Yeah it didn’t snow we love it a beautiful sunny day with great food and wine to match. Yes this year there is something to celebrate its the 25th birthday of the festival – so come on celebrate in Reid street with a glass of wine while you are toe tapping or even better get up and DANCE. The overall event was a success with the dinner booked out and the Sunday tasting expo had good numbers – Chenin Blanc was a hit for us!! What better way to see the Winemakers of Rutherglen & King Valley in one showcase. Its being held at the QT formally Lakeside Rydes. A big thank you to all who helped kick start the festival with breakfast numbers were up and I’m sure everyone had a great time!! All wine packs were a success and many happy smiling faces – sure it was the wine!! Congrats to Lauren from Melbourne who won the 5lt fortified barrel- See you all in 2015.
Celebrate the festivals 40th Birthday this year by exploring the historic Snarts old winery building, complete Ross’s crazy vineguard challenge + conquer Meghan’s mind bending bottle quest and you could wine a 5lt fortified cask while enjoying our new release wines & a feed!! Corner Ross in the VIP room for ultra-premium wines + back vintage relics! The food on offer is an egg & bacon roll for breaky from 9am then moving on Morrison street gourmet sausages for lunch and there will also be cheese platters,snacks and coffee available all day. Sadly it was an end of an era 2014 was the last time this event was hosted ( est. in the 90’s)-Its on again the day when we celebrate our loved ones – Mum, Nans & Grans! Peter & the team from Cellar 47 will be putting on lunch & dessert teamed up with a glass of JGWines or Local Bridge Road beer. Lolly and Chocolate bags on arrival. Lucky door prizes which have been donated by NE businesses. Jumping Castle, Balloon Creations & Face painting for the kids. Music by Wrecked on Sunday.
